With all this incredible knowledge you now have regarding nutrition and how important fasting is to our gut microbiome, we must make you aware of toxins and how just how dangerous they are to us. We live in a time where there are more toxins in our environment than any other time in history. Toxins can present themselves in a lot of different places. We are exposed to toxins every day and most of us don’t even think twice about them, but you should!

Think about that for a second. When you think of the word detox you may be thinking about someone dealing with a drug or alcohol addiction. In the context of a radically healthy diet and lifestyle, the term detox holds a significant and different meaning. A Quick Word on Glyphosate and GMO’s
With what we know about the gut being so important to brain health, we have to take a moment here to discuss the dangers of Glyphosate and the severe damage it will cause to your gut and its health. Glyphosate is an herbicide that is commonly known as Roundup. It is an herbicide and crop desiccant. It has one job and one job only. That is to destroy any microbiome in and around a plant. It is so destructive that even the plant cannot survive unless it is genetically modified. It is the most used herbicide in the USA. This industry fundamentally changed the foods that we eat. The effect it has on our gut microbiome is frightening! These live genetically modified organisms are artificially manipulated and encoded into our food supply. Glyphosate is so deadly that most crops cannot survive when treated with Roundup. So, for these crops to survive, they had to be genetically modified. When you consume a genetically modified plant-based food, it is infused with a trojan horse, glyphosate and wreaks havoc on your gut microbiome.
In the USA, 88% of the corn crop, 94% of cotton, 93% of the soybean crop, 90% of sugar beets (which accounts for over half of all sugar production) are GMO and sprayed heavily with glyphosate to control weeds. The worst offenders are sugar, soy, wheat, rice, and corn. However, a staggering 95.9% of cherry fruit/juice and 90.8% of apples tested positive for glyphosate.
